The Hispanic Graduate Student Association (HiGSA) is proud to present HiGSA Talks which offers a safe and inclusive interdisciplinary space where FSU members, doing any type research and work can share their findings and/or experiences. HiGSA Talks is a solid opportunity to share ideas, and serves as a learning experience that develops our understating of the diverse global society we live and work in today. This is a unique event within FSU, open to the public, that is not done by any other SGA on campus, neither at the undergraduate or graduate level.
This was a two day event hosted on zoom:
- Friday, April 2nd from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm
- Saturday, April 3 from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm

Goals
The long-term outcomes of the Talks are:
- To increase and promote venues for cultural, social, academic exchange at FSU
- To increase the academic interests of the Hispanic community of students at FSU, and on the issues related to Hispanic countries
- To disseminate FSU’s diverse and interdisciplinary informal academic offer.
The short-term outcomes are:
- Promote networks between the presenters and the undergraduate and graduate audience
- Encourage mentorship relations between presenters and students with shared-interests
- Narrow the gap between theory and practice favored by the format of the presentations (short and of easy understanding for non-experts).
